Officially, P2 was a Masonic lodge operating in Italy during the twentieth century. But by the 1970s, investigators discovered it had evolved far beyond ceremonial brotherhood or philosophical discussion. Under the leadership of Licio Gelli, P2 became a secretive shadow network allegedly connecting powerful figures across politics, military intelligence, banking, media, law enforcement, and industry.
